What’s it cost to travel COMFORTABLY for 6 months?

After 178 days on the road, including traveling through 7 countries and 3 continents, we’ve spent a total of $23,735. Our daily average for this initial time frame equates to $133 per day. We compiled this information to share with other travelers to assist with budget planning for their own RTW trip. Sure, we probably could have spent less, but we pride ourselves on the fact that we travel very comfortably and do extensive research to find great value for the dollar.

Includes all costs from traveling to both South and North America, the Cook Islands, New Zealand, and Australia. Due to the high cost of traveling to Antarctica, it is not included in the figures above as it would misrepresent and skew the overall daily average. For costs related to Antarctica, please visit the Travel Planning header in the menu and select Antarctica.
