Fun and Affordable Vegas Attractions for Couples

When you think of Vegas, visions of glitzy casino-lined streets and luxurious hotels probably come to mind. While some Vegas attractions for couples can definitely put a dent in your wallet, there are actually tons of fun and affordable attractions that won’t cost an arm and a leg. Even if you’re not a high roller, like us, you and your partner can have an amazing time exploring all the unique sights and activities Vegas has to offer.

Vegas definitely isn’t the bargain destination it’s made out to be in movies and on TV. Long gone are the days when you could score a cheap $5 buffet or get free comped suites just for playing some slots. That old-school Vegas charm and hospitality has been replaced by a new era of nickel-and-diming at every turn.

“New” Vegas

The glitzy “modern” Vegas is catered entirely towards attracting high-net-worth individuals—those high-rollers who don’t blink an eye at dropping thousands on lavish meals, suites, and gambling. If you’re just an average couple looking for an affordable weekend getaway, don’t expect to be treated like royalty. Quite the opposite, actually.

Since around 2022, the major casino hotels have been laser-focused on maximizing profits and squeezing every last penny out of guests. They’ve tightened up slot machines, increased the house edge in table games, and even cut back on those classic free cocktail services you used to be able to enjoy while playing.

From your hotel room rate to restaurants to actually stepping into the casinos, it’s all a finely-tuned system designed to bleed you dry before you can say “viva Las Vegas!” They don’t really cater to the regular Joes (like us lol) looking for a fun, affordable weekend anymore. For casinos, it’s all about attracting the rich and getting them addicted to the Strip.

Our advice: Skip wasting your money gambling and spend it on the unique experiences below instead. Soaking in the real Vegas magic through these attractions is way more worth it than just blindly chucking your cash at the casino tables and slots. Spend smart to make epic memories on this trip, not throw it all away.

Vegas Attractions for Couples

Even while casinos continue to focus more on high-rollers, there are still plenty of awesome Vegas attractions for couples. The affordable gems highlighted below let you experience classic Vegas glitz and glam without breaking the bank. With budget-savvy planning, you can craft an unforgettable getaway at reasonable costs.

Of course, couples should experience the Fountains of Bellagio, or eat at one of the cheap Mexican joints on the Strip and check out the endless list of free things to do in Las Vegas. However, when it comes to spending money on things to do, here are seven unique fun, and affordable Vegas attractions for couples—these are the things that we’d recommend to our couple friends.

1. See a Vegas Show

If you’re in Las Vegas, you have to see one of the amazing shows. The first big performance we ever saw was KÀ, a show by Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand—it was amazing!

Experience Cirque du Soleil’s KÀ, a breathtaking tale of love and conflict, featuring acrobatic twins amidst constantly changing on a rotating stage.

It’s such a fantastic story that so many years later, it’s still playing. If you haven’t seen it or you’re having a hard time picking out one of the best Las Vegas shows to see, we highly recommend seeing KÀ. Unfortunately, it’s one of the more expensive shows, however, there is a trick to getting cheap Vegas show tickets.
